About Emily!

Hi! My name is Emily.
I am teacher, artist, and teaching artist, born and raised in Chicago's suburban sprawl.

I love to draw, paint, travel, and take photos. I also love kids, kid art, and teaching kids art. I like cooking and eating delicious things, and listening to audiobooks while I run.  I love listening to stories and telling my own.

And I read entirely too much.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, I put off moving home and, instead, packed my bags and moved over the ocean to a suburb in South Korea. I spent one year living and teaching and exploring my way through life on the peninsula, followed by 3 months of travel across South East Asia. It was pretty rad.

After a few months at home, during which I've been spending as much time with my friends and fam (and consuming as much peanut butter, cheese, and Diet Coke) as possible, I will be setting off on an adventure of a very different nature. I will be participating in the American Jewish World Service Volunteer Corps, working in India. I look forward to sharing more details as to the specifics of my placements as well as my life in India here.

So, welcome to my blog! I invite you to listen to some stories and see some neat things and allow me to share a bit of myself.
